Re: Soloist here!

Postby Soloist » Tue Mar 23, 2010 12:38 am

Well hey everyone. I am Brian, aka Soloist on Guitarwar.com. Please don't think that my "Soloist" monicker means that I'm a great soloist, because I'm not...I used that name because I pretty much do all my recordings & stuff as a solo artist...don't have a band, and seldom have other musicians to play or record with me. So, I end up playing/multi-traking all the instruments, singin' or whatever. With the help and advice of people like Danny (OK, mostly just Danny; LOL! Don't really need anyone else's advice with this guy around), I've managed to learn a few things about how to trak and mix things. So, I'm a hobbiest...guitar is my main instrument...learning to properly record and produce nice sounding products is my greatest joy. Anyway...that's me...glad to meet ya!

Ahoy, I'm a huge Danzi fan. In fact, the Danziland CD has been stuck in my gig van's CD player for 5 straight years, and I've yet to care about getting it out. It simply won't eject, but it's the best jams to listen to on the way to a gig. Gets me pumped every time. Much love for the Danzi!

That story still makes me smile every time I hear it Brett! ;) Far worse media could have gotten stuck in there. ;) I remember my dad used to get a new Caddy every 2 years. With it came a cassette tape that would say like "The sounds of Cadillac" or something. All this elevator music. I remember putting a new Alpine system in one of my Camaro's that was exactly like the one's that came stock in the Lamborghini Countach.

The only tape I had at the time...yep, you guessed it...the sounds of Cadillac! LOL! I put it in, listened to a few things to make sure it was working, and the damned thing would not come out. In those days there wasn't a bypass on your cassette deck to listen to the radio, so if you had a tape in there, you had to eject it to hear the radio. That damned thing was stuck so good in there, I had to take it back to the shop so they would get it out.

I tried everything man! Imagine going to a Van Halen concert and on the way, you're listening to the sounds of Streisand, Sinatra, Herb Alpert, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Humperdinck etc! LOL!!! Don't get me wrong, I do actually like that stuff from time to time, but man, not in a sooped up rad looking Camaro Z28 with cherry bombs, cam, lifters, jacked up rear end with air shocks and huge gold Cragar wheels while going to see VH with Roth in 84! LMAO!! ;) Figured you'd get a kick out of that. Good to see you bro...hope all is well. We gotta catch up one of these days. Tell your wife and son I said hello.

Slammer, I am a product of the 80's. A 40 year old metal head that is trying to recapture the lost years of guitar playing. All you guys have helped me immensely. Hey Danzi, haven't seem you around lately, so I came over to say hi. I forgot to bring a cake though...... :?

Hey Slam, good to hear from you. Yeah I haven't been around much even on my own site...pretty pathetic I know. So much going on here with projects in the works etc, I just haven't had time. I crashed pretty hard last night for the first time in a long time. I don't usually sleep much...maybe 2-4 hours if I'm lucky. Last night, I felt like having a big bowl of ice cream, I was watching tv in my bedroom at 6pm, I woke up with the ice cream dish in my hands at 8:05 am today. LOL!!! Now I'm so back-logged with work, I'll have to work without sleep for the next 3 days at least. Hahahaha!
